12th Annual Children’s Day Awards Luncheon

October 2018

When you leave our Children’s Day Luncheon, you’ll be talking about it for days and weeks later. Now in its 12th year, the luncheon provides something for everyone. Our keynote speakers have spurred the audiences to action; the poignant stories from clients who are succeeding despite the odds are moving. Our silent auction is one of the largest and most popular in the county, and the music and artwork provided by local school children bring smiles to everyone’s face.

Join us again this year, on Friday, October 5 for this outstanding event that helps us continue the important work we’ve been doing for 28 years.
Register for the event, become a sponsor, or, if you can’t attend, donate. You’ll be happy you did.

Chairman - Monte Resnick
Monte Resnick, a member of Families First’s Foundation Board, leads this year’s Children’s Day Luncheon as chairman. He serves as managing director for Matrix Private Capital Group and leads the firm’s expansion in the Southeast.  He is responsible for managing the wealth advisory practice and talent acquisition in the region. A firm believer in community engagement, Monte serves on numerous boards and committees in our community.

Keynote Speaker - Heather Cox-Rosenberg
Heather Cox-Rosenberg, Ombudsman for the Department of Children and Families (DCF), knows all sides of the foster care system and is the chief advocate for foster children. Coming from a family rife with mental health, addiction and domestic violence issues, she grew up with relatives while watching her sibling go through the foster care system. She and her husband have been foster parents to 13 children and adopted three of them. She brings a message of hope and a call to action that gives each of us a part in making a difference.

Emcee - Emily Pantelides
Emily Pantelides spent more than 10 years in TV news, including working locally at WPEC as the main morning anchor. She still hosts television shows on CBS12, including Spotlight on Business, and Extraordinary People. She is heavily involved in the Palm Beach County community and currently serves on numerous non-profit boards.
In just two years, Emily has turned her Pantelides PR & Consulting into one of the most influential and best-recognized public relations brands in Palm Beach County.  She has done this through a relentless focus on delivering results for her clients, but also understanding the larger role that businesses should play in supporting events, causes and non-profits in order to improve the community.
