FAMILIES FIRST HONORS FOUR PALM BEACH COUNTY RESIDENTS FOR THEIR VOLUNTEER WORK WITH FAMILIES AND CHILDREN.
At the 2nd Annual Families First Children's Day Award Luncheon four Palm Beach County residents were honored for their commitment and hard work with families and children. Danielle Hickox Moore of Palm Beach, Connie Siskowski of Boca Raton, Joyce Laird from Jupiter and Alan Mentser of West Palm Beach. Each was honored by Mistress of Ceremonies Chandra Bill, News Anchor from WPTV News Channel Five and co-chairs Diane Mc Laughlin and Latasha Gholston. Following an inspiring key note address given by Liz Murray, From Homeless to Harvard. The Families First Award was presented to Mr. Alan Mentser for his volunteer work as a Guardian Ad Litem, his work with Growing Together Inc., the Big Heart Brigade, and Urban Youth Impact are among the many organizations he volunteered with and made significant contributions too in the community. The Award was presented by Eileen Minnick, Senior Vice President of Wachovia Bank. “Alan Mentser certainly more than meets the criteria to receive this award in fact each individual, we honored at the luncheon have made a major impact on families with children in our community, I am honored to know each of them”, said Executive Director Julie Swindler. Key note speaker Liz Murray brought the more than nearly three-hundred guests to their feet at the conclusion of her incredible key note address. Board president Sandra Fleming said, “Her address made us cry, cheer and laugh, she is truly an inspiration to us all, we were thrilled to have her as our speaker for this event it couldn't have been more perfect.”
