Healthy Families Family Support Workers are delivering the message of safe sleeping in a new way to families this year.
The program purchased onesies which carry the logo “If you can read this, please put me on my back to sleep”, which is placed on the back of the onesie. Each family that participates in this module receives a onesie for their little one.
It is recommended that infants under 1 year of age be placed on their backs to sleep in order to lower the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). It helps to keep their mouths and noses unblocked so they breathe in clean, fresh air and do not overheat.
Healthy Families strives to keep our babies safe and help lower the risk of SIDS.
